Prerequisite: students who are proficient in their knowledge of the Eighth-Grade Pre-Algebra Standards

This two-semester course is aligned with the Iowa Academic Standards for Mathematics. Algebra I topics include solving equations with real numbers; solving, writing, and graphing linear equations, quadratic equations and functions; polynomials and exponential functions. This Advanced course is an accelerated course designed to meet the needs of students who are proficient in their knowledge of the Eighth-Grade Math Standards. This course is a prerequisite for Advanced Geometry.
