Algebra I is a two-semester course which helps the student acquire an understanding of the structure of the number system and a knowledge of algebraic expressions and equations. This course also provides practice in the interpretation of verbal problems and training in logical thinking. Topics include operations with real numbers, solving equations and inequalities, factoring, and systems of equations, graphing, and quadratic equations.
