Course Description Including Content Standards: In a Windows environment, the focus of this course is to use hardware and software as business productivity tools. Training includes a hands-on introduction to computer applications vital in business and industry. The course covers computer terminology, operating system, email, and internet and focuses on software business applications including word processing (Word), spreadsheet (Excel), database (Access), and presentation (PowerPoint) software. At the end of the course, students will be allowed to test for Microsoft Certification as a Word and PowerPoint Specialist. Microsoft Certification is a globally recognized business certification. This course must be taken for DMACC credit (3 credits).
