Parent/Guardians: How to Approve the Academic Plan
This is for students who plan to attend Valley Southwoods Freshman High School next year. Students who attend or plan to attend Walnut Creek Campus will work directly with the Walnut Creek Campus counselor each spring to register for the next school year.
Q. There is a lot here. Where do I start?
- A. Start with making sure the courses selected for ninth grade are as accurate as possible. All eight grade students should have a four year plan in their Google Drive that can be a reference. Students are encouraged to add their course selections for grades 10-12 if they choose to. Students will update each of the subsequent grade requests annually.
Academic Plan Approval Steps
-
Select your student in the upper right corner of the page, then select "Academic Plan."
- When the "Choose an Academic Plan" screen appears, click "Next."
- Review the Academic Plan, grades 9-12, with your student. Please look closely at the ninth grade courses. These are the most important to have accurate.
- Approve your student's Academic Plan by checking the box in the top left corner. Then click "Save" above the checked box.
This final step must be completed by the end of the day, Feb. 19, 2025. If you have questions resulting from conversation with your student, please contact the Valley Southwoods Counseling staff.
